How exciting it was to return to school after the Lunar New Year weekend, and watch a Lion Dance! A little more exploration about structures and the cultures that are associated with them! A character parade.... And a lot of work with polygons and symmetry!
"We learned that polygons are closed shapes with sides, vertices, and angles. A circle is not a polygon because it has no angles and vertices." - Marietta "We learned that polygons can be transferred, rotated and flipped to make other shapes." -Jay "In class both Jay and I made the biggest hexagon using 34 other shapes." - Li "I learned that not every pattern is symmetrical." - Ayumi "We noticed things about symmetry. Symmetry means when one thing looks the exact same on both sides of it's axis. We used mirrors to explore symmetry in our classroom." - Ronen
