It was a short week but students spent a good chunk of time exploring the natural environment this week. Students walked the field, the grade 1 garden and areas around the parking lot looking for living things. They found all kinds of organisms! They found snails, a silk worm, many kinds of flowers and plants, several butterflies, ants working away, and lots of trees! Our trip to Prunus Trail at MacRitchie was exciting!
Archie's favourite part of the trip was "when a group of monkeys were in front of us. One of the monkeys came close to me!" Chihiro's best memory was when "I saw the rooster because I saw a rooster for the first time." She also learned about a monkey's habitats; she said "I thought monkeys lived in a zoo!" Li learned that there can be many habitats in one big ecosystem. So much great learning!
