Our first in our final term of the 2016-17 school year, was full of great learning and activity! Students continue on learning more about how we learn about civilisations from past events and artefacts left behind. We began our study of Pompeii, which has been very exciting. We had a call with Ms Fort, an Earth Science Teacher in New York about an archaeological dig she did in Russia. She taught us about the bones her team found and also shared some of her knowledge about Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii. In Math, we began to link gridding on maps to multiplication. We are still in the exploration phase, back some great connections have been made when using counters to make grouping arrangements. Students continued to build their independent literacy skills in Daily 5, while also beginning to dig into the art of writing good explanations.
