This week, students spent time honing their research and group-work skills. Students were really invested in inquiring into the ecosystems in different ways; also sharing that information with their Grade 6 buddies. "When we were researching about the assigned habitat, we looked on BrainPop and Ducksters.com, and some searches on Google." - Aaqil
"We had books from the library about our ecosystem to gather more information for our poster. The ecosystems there were: desert, rainforest, forest, ocean, freshwater arctic." - Ronen "In my group, we made two posters. One is a food chain and one is data collecting. We searched what kind of animals lived in the different ecosystems." - Yoojin "We learned the producer, consumer, and decomposer with our grade 6 buddies. And we sort them in different categories. A producer can be trees, a consumer can be frogs, and decomposer can be a mushroom. A decomposer eats the dead things. And some consumers eats other consumers. It was fun!" - Satoshi Students are in the process of practicing their presentations so they can share their learning. They will also be providing feedback to each other after their presentations! Videos will be available next week.
