How exciting to start our week with the arrival of our Cultural Exchange Box from our friends in Alabama! We received books and other items connected to their festival called Mardi Gras. It is a very special time in the southern United States. Our trip to the National Museum of Singapore took us back in time to when Singapore was not yet its own country. We learned that Singapore has been heavily influenced by many cultures such the Malay, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and British cultures. We were so lucky to have the published author, Catherine Carvell, visit us. She taught us about her life as a writer and even helped her develop a new character! Students continued their exploration of polygons this week. They discovered that squares are rectangles but rectangles are not squares! Lots of fun and learning this week. Stay tuned for more next week!
